This was the last image of the sunset/night shoot at Landscape Arch. While walking along the trail through these fins, I stopped to shoot Orion with Betelgeuse and Sirus. The clouds are illuminated by Moab, I believe. Funny enough, this night temps were just below freezing yet comfortable--i.e. no wind. While thinking like I had the trail conquered by walking like a cat across the well worn snow--i.e. that's ice in other circles--I took a slip and fall on my rear. Nothing other than my pride was hurt. No physical injuries or camera issues though my camera and tripod were perched over my right shoulder at the time. I attribute the lack off issues to be well practiced to falling and willing to land hard on my body instead of stopping things with my hands.
This image was created with two images taking first about 3o minutes after sunset and another about 30 minutes after that. The stars were very visible by an hour after sunset. I'm not sure what's illuminating the clouds to the left. I suspect the Moab city lights are playing a part. The purple colors are a bit of mystery. I'm not sure where those colors come from.
