This image was taken after the relatively difficult climb from the trailhead over a 1.5 miles away. By the time I started pushed for the hike, the clouds totally obscured the skies. Only a very thin band of blue sky was visible to the north. Otherwise, it was think gray clouds. The climb up left me sweating. Fortunately, it wasn't windy or overly cold. I warmed up quite nicely after waiting a bit. Just at sunset, the clouds moved towards the southeast revealing the sun as seen here. Coincidentally, there was only one other photographer and three other spectators taking in this sight. Since we had the place to ourselves, the other photographer and I took advantage of as many shooting perspectives as we could. Between the unique orientations and the wonderful sunset, I think this might be one of those long term very memorable shooting session experiences I'll have. I felt quite privileged to be there.
