Waimea Canyon - 5 December 2011
Read MoreWaimea Canyon - Kauai, Hawaii
This is the longest and deepest canyon in the Pacific. Over 16 miles long and upwards of a mile wide, it rivals the Grand Canyon in some respects. The road is windy and twisty to get up to this vantage point. Here, I'm facing south to the much drier portion of the island. The northern end of the island has a lot more rain including the rainiest spot in the world with over 450 inches of rain a year.
At a couple of these view-points I over-heard a couple people comment if you didn't like the clouds wait a while, they'll change. They sure did.
Cheers
